Changpu is an acrid, warm herb that enters the heart and stomach meridians. It opens the orifices, vaporises phlegm, transforms turbid dampness and pacifies the spirit. It can also benefit the throat, and is used to treat a hoarse voice due to laryngitis or inflamed vocal chords. Changpu removes obstructions caused by phlegm and opens the sensory orifices, sharpening cognitive functions and treating forgetfulness, tinnitus, dizziness and insomnia.
