Found in foods including cheese, kidney, liver, cauliflower, eggs, mushrooms, nuts, sardines and salmon. Considerable amounts of biotin are also synthesised by microorganisms in the intestinal tract.
Biotin is a water soluble vitamin and a member of the B-complex family. Its primary function is as a coenzyme in carbohydrate, amino acid, and lipid metabolism. Biotin is essential for cell growth and replication through its role in the manufacturing of DNA and RNA.
